Laura T. Owen

Chief Executive Officer

Laura Owen has led Hospice of Davidson County for 16 years, driving its evolution into a regional leader in palliative and specialized comfort care. Since being named CEO in 2010, following roles as Volunteer Manager and Director of Marketing, Laura has leveraged her business and nonprofit expertise to expand the agency’s reach and impact.

Under her leadership, the agency has maintained the largest hospice market share in the county and earned a 5-star rating and national recognition as a Hospice Honors program. Her tenure is marked by the oversight of key strategic initiatives, including the launch of telehealth and palliative care services and the expansion of grief counseling. Additionally, she led a major campus expansion, which included the addition of a clinical learning lab and digital library.

A graduate of High Point University with additional certifications in hospice care, nonprofit management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, Laura’s transformational impact was recently recognized with the Triad Business Journal C-Suite Award. As the agency celebrates its 40th anniversary, she remains dedicated to providing patient- and family-centered support that ensures dignity and quality of life for every patient and family.

Aaron Holt

Chief Administrative Officer

Aaron Holt serves as Chief Administrative Officer for Alderwood of Davidson County, where he leads administrative and operational functions that support the organization’s growth and commitment to compassionate, high-quality care.

With over 15 years of experience in human resources and organizational leadership, Aaron has served at Hospice of Davidson County/Alderwood since 2022. He oversees human resources, facilities, safety, and strategic operations. He earned both his MBA and undergraduate degree in Business Administration and IT from Liberty University and is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).

William (Bill) P. Taylor, CPA

Interim Chief Financial Officer

Bill Taylor, CPA, is a veteran hospice consultant based in North Carolina, specializing in financial sustainability and organizational quality. In addition to serving as a recurring interim CFO for select agencies, Bill is a distinguished CHAP faculty member. He frequently shares his expertise through the Five Star Formula workshop and the financial modules of the Hospice Operator training, empowering agencies to balance mission-driven care with operational excellence.

Lana J. Riemann, MD, MPH

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Lana Riemann has over 21 years of experience in hospice and palliative care. Prior to her career as a Board Certified physician in Hospice and Palliative Medicine as well as Family Medicine, Dr. Riemann attended Vassar College and the UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine. She has worked as a hospice and palliative care physician in Charlotte, rural western North Carolina, and Davidson County, serving with our agency for more than 10 years.

Jennifer Everhart, RN, CHPN

Chief Clinical Officer & Corporate Compliance Officer

Jennifer Everhart, our Chief Clinical Officer, was born and raised here in Davidson County. She has been in healthcare since 1987, and has been a Registered Nurse since 2008. Jennifer started her career with Hospice of Davidson County as a field nurse in 2010, and earned her certification in hospice and palliative care in 2014. As our Chief Clinical Officer, Jennifer supervises hospice care services through our home care program, at long term care facilities, and at our Hinkle Hospice House inpatient unit. In addition, Jennifer supervises our grief and bereavement programs, our volunteer services, and acts as our Corporate Compliance Officer.

Elizabeth McNeil, MSN, NP-C, ACHPN

Director of Provider Services

Elizabeth McNeil has served as the Nurse Practitioner for Hospice of Davidson County since 2011 and manages our Advanced Practice Providers and on-call medical team. Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Chapel Hill in 2005 followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from UNC Greensboro in 2010. Since 2011, Elizabeth has been an AHIP certified Nurse Practitioner, and is certified as an ACHPN (Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse).

Kaitlyn McFadden, BSN, CHPN

Director of Home Care and Clinical Education

Kaitlyn McFadden brings over a decade of experience in hospice care, including eight years in progressive leadership roles. She serves as Director of Home Care Services, where she provides strategic and operational oversight of clinical services and leads interdisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Kaitlyn is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN). Her clinical expertise includes pediatric, oncology, and home hospice care. She has been with the agency for 10 years and is committed to advancing excellence, compassion, and dignity in serious illness care.

Cole Warner

Director of Support Services and the Counseling Center

Cole Warner is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina who has been with Hospice of Davidson County for over six years. He serves as the Director of Support Services and oversees the agency’s Digital Health Education Program. Since 2021, Cole has also been the Host and Producer of the Community Connections Podcast, which highlights stories and conversations around end-of-life care and community support. He has obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Cole is currently contributing to a forthcoming textbook for palliative care resident physicians with a section focused on grief and loss. Cole has been working with grieving individuals and families since 2018, providing compassionate guidance and education through both clinical and community settings.

Amy Leonard

Director of Patient Access

A lifelong Davidson County resident, Amy Leonard brings 29 years of dedicated hospice experience to her role, having started with the agency in June of 1997. Over nearly three decades, she has grown alongside the organization, serving as Medical Records Coordinator, Referral Coordinator, and Assessment Team Leader. Since 2020, she has served as the Director of Patient Access, providing direct oversight to the liaison team, admissions nurses, referral/intake, and medical records departments. She earned her degree in Health Information from Davidson County Community College (DCCC), now known as Davidson-Davie Community College (DDCC).
