Hospice Sabbath

Sunday, November 22, 2026

Hospice Sabbath will be held November 22, 2026, and is a special time of remembrance, reflection, and education that brings faith communities together to honor those who have passed before us, remember individuals and families facing serious illness, recognize caregivers and healthcare professionals, and increase awareness of hospice and palliative care.

Throughout November, in recognition of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, Alderwood of Davidson County invites local faith communities to observe Hospice Sabbath in a way that is meaningful to their congregation. Recognition may include a special prayer or reflection, a moment of silence, remembrance activities, caregiver recognition, educational resources, or a presentation from an Alderwood of Davidson County team member.

Hospice Sabbath also provides an opportunity to begin important conversations about end-of-life care before a family is faced with a crisis, helping individuals better understand the support and resources available to them.

Faith communities interested in participating or inviting an Alderwood of Davidson County team member to speak during Hospice and Palliative Care month or at any time are encouraged to contact us to learn more at 336.475.5444.
