Alderwood of Davidson County hosts 19th Annual Ride for Angels event on October 17

Alderwood of Davidson County (formerly Hospice of Davidson County) will host its 19th Annual Ride for Angels fundraising event on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Event organizers have announced a new starting location for this year’s motorcycle ride at South Davidson High School, located at 14956 NC-109 in Denton. The approximately 60-mile police-escorted route will take riders through scenic Davidson County before looping back to conclude at South Davidson High School.

Registration and check-in for the event will open at 8:30 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will feature remarks on rider safety, sponsorship acknowledgments, the presentation of the National Anthem, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Organized in partnership with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, the police-escorted ride officially kicks off at 10:00 a.m.

Pre-registration for drivers and passengers is now open for the Ride for Angels, which drew more than 250 participants in 2025. Participants are strongly encouraged to register in advance at alderwoodhealth.org/ride-for-angels/ to take advantage of early bird pricing. Through October 14, early registration is $20 per driver and $5 per additional passenger. Beginning October 15, regular registration fees will be $25 per driver and $10 per additional passenger. On-site registration will also be available on the day of the event.

“Ride for Angels is a top-notch community ride for a great cause that brings people together for fun, fellowship, and a safe day of riding. I’ve enjoyed being a part of it for many years, and encourage everyone to come out and experience it for themselves,” said Marvin Ball, Alderwood of Davidson County Volunteer and longtime Ride for Angels Rider.

The day-long celebration will also feature lunch for all registered riders and passengers, a 50/50 raffle drawing, and more activities.

“Every year, this event demonstrates the incredible strength and heart of our community,” says Ashley Milam, Director of Community Engagement. “It’s more than just a fundraiser—it’s an inspiring gathering where riders and families reunite to share memories and celebrate lives that touched us all.”Community members can also show support by purchasing the annual Ride for Angels

T-shirt for $20, available online during pre-registration or at the event. Individuals can honor the memory of loved ones by purchasing space on the T-shirt to feature their loved ones’ names. The deadline for T-shirt memorials is September 27, 2026.

“I’ve been proud to ride in the annual Ride for Angels since it began, and it’s an event I look forward to year after year. There’s something special about seeing riders come together, enjoying the open road, and know that we are supporting a cause that makes a difference for families in our community,” said Randy Hammit.

Fundraising events like the Ride for Angels ensure that high-quality, compassionate hospice care remains accessible to everyone in the community, regardless of their ability to pay.
